He Definitely Succeeded
In Loving Tribute
to
Justin Allen Shackleford
“Let us take pride, pride in
ourselves”
In all of our lives, certain people have
the ability to make
a lifelong and great
impression. In our family,
one of these
people was Justin. He was a loyal and
loving son, brother, grandson, nephew,
great-grandson, cousin and friend.
He will also be uncle in the near future,
something he wanted a lot.
His personality was one that exuded
positive characteristics like
pride, honor,
strength, and love.
He genuinely cared
about people, both in and out of his
family.
To Justin, everyone he came in
contact with was his family.
He took the
awesome responsibility of making a
difference in the lives of
those he came
in contact with. He definitely
succeeded.
“Let us work to improve by
example....”,
Justin took pride in his
school, Harlan High School.
He appreciated the
challenges that his teachers
laid out
before him. When
others became
frustrated, Justin had an
inner drive to
find solutions.
He wanted to be the best
in everything he attempted.
His will to
succeed was only
overshadowed by his
curiosity.
He wanted and needed to
know all the
answers, Justin pushed
himself to have a
good school
experience. He definitely succeeded.
“Let us not lower our standards,
but rather let others come up to
ours...”
Justin had a very clear goal of
where he wanted
to go with his life. he
had a desire to go to
the University of
Kentucky and major in Pharmacy.
His
goal was to help others, but especially
his father. There is
no doubt he would
have achieved these goals. Justin
was already well on his way to completing this goal
by being accepted into a very limited program
called HS-RAP at UK.
It was a High School Research Apprentice
Program and he was selected one of 12 out of
70 applicants.
He was working in Pharmaceutical Research on head traumas.
Justin
would use college
to help others. He definitely succeeded.
“Let us work to improve by example....”
Words do not do justice to Justin. He
was capable of exceeding
expectations at any time and do things that were extraordinary.
Do not remember Justin as a young man
whose life was tragically cut short; remember
him as a young man who has made every day count toward
making a difference for the
better in those around him.
His spirit lives on in his family, his friends, his school and his
community. We are all better people for having him
in our lives and hearts. Justin lived
a wonderful life
and touched a community, both now and forever.
He sought out the best
and lived every moment
to its fullest.....He definitely succeeded!
“Let us not look down on others,
but lift them to a higher plane,
Let us take
responsibility to be the best
we can be.”
